Booking a photoshoot:
What to expect?
Send through an enquiry: whether that be through an email, a message through the message box or a private message on Facebook. We'll have a chat about what you'd like, a location and time that suits you, any worries you might have, and prices. Once we agree on details, I'll often suggest a package that will suit you, or create your own unique package. On booking I take a £300 retainer fee, which will secure your photoshoot date, you'll also receive £150 of credit from this to spend on products.
Leading up to the day/ on the day: I'll send a reminder of date/time, check the weather leading up to the photoshoot. On the day of the photoshoot we'll go for a little walk in the location we agreed on - I like to set my photoshoots up as part of a walk. This way the dogs can be happy and relaxed - most dogs actually really enjoy photoshoots as they get lots of treats for it. Don't fret if your dog can't go off the lead, I'm quite happy to edit out collars and leads.
I'll then go home and sort through the pictures and partially edit them, this will primarily be so you can decide on which picture's you'd like based on the poses and expressions of your dog. We then book in an online video call, to present the pictures and talk through options. Then, I'll go and edit the chosen pictures to perfection. Sorting through pictures and then editing can vary in time - often I'll have a portfolio for you to look and choose from within a couple of weeks, and the completed photos within a week or so, but it massively depends on how busy I am - this is something I'm upfront with so I'll let you know rough waiting times.
The final stage is receiving your pictures and any other products you might have ordered!
FAQ?
Q: How much do you charge?
A: My price-list varies on what you're looking for. Starting costs for my photoshoots are £150. I do offer packages and discounts, so it's best to get in touch for the best deal! Wall art and other printing options range in price.
Q: If I buy wall art, do I also need to pay for a digital?
A: No - Wall art includes the digital image as standard.
Q: My dog can't go off lead, can I still come?
A: Yes! I have a photoshoot suitable lead we can use that I can edit out.
Q: Can I bring a reactive/ nervous dog?
A: Of course! I've had plenty of experience with reactive and nervous dogs, and I can work with you and your needs. Let me know on booking, and we can make special arrangements if needed.
Q: Do you travel?
A: Yes! I cover a 10 mile radius of Swindon free of charge, after that I offer a 45p round trip charge. I typically try to keep within 2 hours of Swindon, but on prior arrangement I will definitely travel further.
Q: How soon can I get a photoshoot?
A: Availability varies greatly - sometimes I'm booked up for up to 6 months, other times I have availability within the week. Your best bet is to pop me a message and ask.
Q: How do we communicate throughout the whole process?
A: This is totally up to you as the client. On the initial consultation, a pre-arranged video call or phone call is recommended, this allows for more effective conversation. However, if you do not feel comfortable enough for a live chat, we can absolutely chat over email/ messages - this sometimes takes a little longer. For the odd question throughout, this can be done either through an email/text or again a live conversation if needed.
Q: What is the photo choosing process like?
A: In most cases, you gain access to an online viewing gallery with watermarked images. I also offer a pre-arranged live video chat, so we can look through the pictures together - in this case I can show examples of how the pictures will look fully edited, as well as talk about what I would plan to do with them.
Q: What if the weather isn't suitable?
A: The UK is known for it's bad weather, so we'll organise a different date that works for us both.
Q: Do you do vouchers?
A: Yes I do! Vouchers start from £20. Get in touch and we can work something out.
